Mofutans, Mogutans or Mofutanzu is a new character from San-x. Despite looking a bit like Sanrio's Cinnamoroll he's actually a lop rabbit. So cute!

March 2014 San-x wallpaper Rilakkuma shima shima everyday series

I was working on a post for the whole shima shima everday (stripe stripe everyday) series but it was taking so long that I thought I should put up the wallpaper before March was over!

Nyan Nyan Nyanko Nyankoburger wallpaper

Can you guess what's celebrating it's ten year anniversery this month? Nyankoburger! I can't believe it's that old. I can't believe I'm that old that I've been a San-x fan for ten+ years.

The San-x style has certainly changed hasn't it? The old San-x has the appeal of nostalgia but I think I like the new, more polished, style better.

Kutsushita Nyanko Natural Music Wallpaper (Feruary 2014) + new product line

Kutsushita Nyanko (sock cat) is one of San-x's many cute characters. This month San-x releases a line featuring Kutushita Nyanko in relaxed, country theme with natural colors.

Where to buy Nyan Nyan Nyanko plushes (or other san-x plushes)

Since this seems to be a topic of interest I thought I'd do a post on it.

Unfortunately there isn't an easy answer to this. The best place to buy almost any Japanese collectible, including Nyan Nyan Nyanko plushes, is Yahoo! Japan auctions. They have a reasonably good selection of plushes and much lower prices than Western sites. There is also M-bok, another auction site, also with good prices but their selection isn't as good.

To purchase items from Yahoo! Japan auctions requires a shopping service (I like Noppin) which is a business that for a small fee will act as a middleman and help you purchase goods that are only available in Japan. All the steps required can be a little intimidating at first but it really isn't much more difficult than shopping on e-bay.

Speaking of e-bay...they're also a good place to find Nyanko plushes. There are usually only a few Nyan Nyan Nyanko plushes for sale at any given time but if you have patience and check daily you can find some great things. I would put eCrater in the same category as e-bay.

Then there's My Nyanko World. I haven't ordered from them so I can't give any sort of feedback as to what sort of business they are. The prices are high, for sure, but they look like they have a good selection. Anyone bought from them?

As a side note: When looking on Japanese sites for Nyan Nyan Nyanko plushes the search terms you want to use are "にゃんにゃんにゃんこ" (Nyan Nyan Nyanko) and " ぬいぐるみ" (plush).

Rilakkuma toilet paper roll holder

San-x puts out the strangest things sometimes. But if you're determined to cute up your entire house then you might need ("need") Rilakkuma holding your toilet paper.

Get Rilakkuma (sold out!) or Korilakkuma toilet paper roll holders for about $17 dollars.(Prior to shopping service fees since as far as I know San-x doesn't ship overseas.)

Nyan Nyan Nyanko macaron plush

I've loved Nyan Nyan Nyanko for years but didn't know until recently that they were part of the San-X family. These were apparently a 10th anniversary special and entirely unavailable now. There's always ebay, yahoo japan auctions and the like if you're determined to find a set.

Hello all, this blog has received a make over for 2013! I don't think anybody really remembers what it once was. However, I'm happier with this new direction. Here's to plenty more cute to come!
